By now, I’m sure it’s no secret that I’m a fan of fairy tales or anything that’s reminiscent of any of my favorite childhood stories. When I laid eyes on the enchanting photo above by Anne Acaso, who resides in my motherland The Philippines, I couldn’t help but ooh and ahh over the beautiful styling and conjure up thoughts about The Secret Garden.
For additional inspiration be sure to check out the rest of Anne’s photostream, filled with lots of other fairy tale-esque lovelies.

I’ve been a fan of Rifle Paper Co. for many seasons now. Creator and illustrator Anna Bond’s playful style is so warm and inviting, and her paper goods are the sort of thing I want to display all over my home. Based in Winter Park, Florida, Rifle Paper Co. was recently featured in Southern Living magazine alongside other wonderful stationers including Simplesong Design/Fifteen-Eleven, Rock Paper Scissors, mac & murphy, and others (check out the feature on Rock Paper Scissors’ blog).
With spring in full bloom, Rifle Paper Co. have stocked their store with the prettiest floral paper goods. Here are a few of my that I’m currently fawning over:
Now through April 11th, Rifle Paper Co. are offering a 15% discount with the coupon code BLOOM12 in the featured section of their shop. Make haste and shop for spring and Easter lovelies.
My little dearests have the biggest obsession with peeling magnets off of refrigerators. We’re sure to keep all the important papers we’ve attached to our refrigerator well out of their little arms reach. If you ever find us in your home and notice all of your magnets strewn across your kitchen floor or find a magnet or two under your couch … we’ll be to blame!
When I happened upon magnetic wallpaper from Sian Zeng this week via decor8, I thought it was one of the most innovative products ever! The wallpapers come in a variety of fun patterns that every age group can enjoy in their home. I don’t know that I’d cover all four walls of a room with magnetic wallpaper, as I think that would probably encourage my little ones to climb the walls, but maybe half-way up the wall or a long horizontal strip across one wall? The possibilites are endless!
Sian also carries a whimsical assortment of magnets to let your little ones’ (and/or your) imaginations run wild on their magnetic paper. Flying pigs? Talking llamas? So much fun is to be had with their wallpaper and magnets.
I spent my last two years of college at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and I distinctly remember an alley in the heart of downtown called the bubblegum alley. Who could forget a name like that, right? It’s a hot touristy spot due to the incredible amount of gum that’s stuck to the walls of the alley. In all honesty, it smells awful, but I couldn’t leave the town without having snapped a photo of a section of the wall. I would have attempted to photograph an up-close-and-personal macro shot of some of the gum that reminded me of lichen that grows on trees had the stench of the saliva of 50,000 tourists been present.
The piece of bark that Lisa Jordan found and photographed (shown above) is world’s prettier and more approachable than anything I saw in the bubblegum alley. The bit of bark measured the size of Lisa’s fingernail and contained four different type of lichen. It’s kind of mind-boggling how much detail and color nature can pack into the tiniest of spaces. Nature is such a beautiful artist. And I absolutely adore that Lisa fashioned the piece of lichen-laden bark onto a ring. I like-n it a lot!
Any fans of Once Upon a Time? It’s a show I tune into every Sunday night and my favorite character is Prince Charming. Besides being a hunk of gorgeous eye candy, Josh Dallas, the actor who portrays Prince Charming, does an amazing job of single-tear crying. I get a little choked up every time he does that.
I’ll finish gushing now before I write a novel about Prince Charming and my adoration of the show, and switch gears to charming prints — nice segue, eh? — of the floral variety. I’ve been particularly in love with everything at Free People as of late, especially their floral printed apparel and accessories.
Here are my top floral printed picks I’d like to add to my closet someday.
I don’t recommend donning floral prints from head to toe, but who am I to stop you if you want to!
