I was an odd one in high school. Secretly, I wanted to be a hippie. Not in the live-off-the-grid-and-grow-a-beard sense — let’s face it, growing a beard presented its challenges what with being a woman and all — but in the sense that I listened to an inordinate amount of hippie music when I was fifteen. I didn’t don flowers in my hair or wear tan leather vests, but I did learn to play the guitar and sing along to The Mamas & the Papas. I remember belting out “San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Flowers In Your Hair)” in my parents’ garage.

It was an interesting phase in my life, to say the least.

Had I clamped eyes on this hippie chic inspiration photoshoot in my teenage years, I think I would’ve been in hippie heaven. Photographed by Tinywater Photography and styled by Enjoy Events Co., the photoshoot was actually inspired by the very song that I’d sung to the imaginary audience of tens of people in my teenage years.

I love this photoshoot because it’s infused with so vibrant colors and is a delightful departure from the typical rustic Middle Earth-esque weddings I would usually associate with anything to do with nature and weddings.

And my guitar better watch out! It might get flower-bombed soon. I definitely feel the urge to photograph my guitar with flowers maybe draping the sides, perhaps? We’ll see.
