In lieu of an interview today, I thought I’d share a few of my favorite things, some of which are nature-related. I’m currently participating in a really neat project with well over 100 bloggers participating called Send Something Good, created by Gentri Lee with the aid of Kristy Gardner and Dearest Nature’s own contributor Kaitlyn Webb Patience. The gals recently initiated a blog link-up so that participants can get to know their secret person a little bit better.

So without further delay, here a few of my favorite things.
1. Animal: manatee. Ever since 7th grade, the sea cow has been my favorite animal. I have over a dozen stuffed manatee animals

2. Bird: hummingbird. These little wonders visit our yard often in the springtime but I can never seem to photograph them in time.

4. Flower: forget-me-not. A native flower of Alaska, this is a flower I’d love to plant in my yard someday.

5. Fungus: Mushroom. Nature’s umbrellas! They taste amazing in omelets, too.

7. Scent: jasmine. The sweetest scent, it’s what reminds me most of my trip to Hawaii when I was in middle school.

8. Season: summer. Always a favorite growing up because it was symbolic of homework-free days! And my birthday’s during the middle of summer, too.

Thank you so much Donaville and DN for featuring my little flowers. Honoured to be here.
Best wishes
Lorrie :)
No way! my favorite animal is the manatee too! They are the gentlest giants and have the cutest smooshed up faces.
Gorgeous artwork! I especially love #9 & #10. Pinning in process ;) :)
manatees are so funny! they actually remind me of hippos (which are one of my favorite animals)… so i love them by extension. ;)
glad to have you participating in Send Something Good! Talk to you soon!
Um, why have I never been here before?! What a beautiful blog! I love forget me not’s too! Not only because they’re beautiful, but because they remind me of my love- Alaska. :)
