Gardens have been on my mind a lot lately. In just over one week I will be moving to a new little townhouse with a cute little garden patio in the back! I’m not a gardener by any means (although I would like to be) but I do know that gardeners everywhere will soon be planting their seeds.
I would like to try growing a few things this summer myself; there is just something about being able to grow your own food that is so satisfying. And if that fails I can always walk down to the farmer’s market and reap the benefits of a more experienced gardener’s hard work.
I think I’ll do some research and see what plants are easiest to grow. Any gardeners out there with suggestions or advice? I gladly welcome it.
It’s April — and you know what they say, April showers brings May flowers. I don’t mind the rain, though, it’s kind of a treat for me. Los Angeles weather is pretty consistent all year round so when it does rain I gladly use it as an excuse to wear warmer sweaters, drink something hot and splash around in my Wellies.
Can’t you just smell the rain already?
The next time you wake up to a dreary day this April, don’t fret. Grab your boots and play a little.
Hi Everyone! This is Jamie, from A Pair of Pears, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to be writing my first post for Dearest Nature as a regular contributor! I had so much fun putting together this roundup for you.
This week I chose the word “morning”. I hope by now you are finally adjusting to the time change. It’s crazy how only one hour can throw you off. I can’t really claim to be a morning person (just ask my husband), but whenever I do manage to make it out of bed while it’s still early, I really do enjoy it. The air is still cool and crisp, everything is so quiet and the day ahead seems so hopeful and full of posibilites.
With that in mind I gathered up a few things to share with you to help you enjoy your mornings a little more. I would love to go on a morning walk with a french press mug and then organize my day in the pocket planner. All this talk about early mornings makes me want to start my day a little sooner. We’ll see if I change my mind when the alarm goes off, though.
